Mediterranean Economic Week: Event Program Focusing on Digital Enterprise
The tenth edition of MEW will be held from 2nd – 4th of November at the Villa Méditerranée in Marseille, with a particular focus on businesses and enterprise. A number of conferences and workshops will be dedicated to digital enterprises, showcasing the value of their activities and providing vital information regarding digital business opportunities around the Mediterranean and Africa.
Now more than ever, Mediterranean Economic Week is positioning itself as a platform for exchange of best practices and a vector for new links between digital companies. “Right now we’re seeing very significant mobilisation in our economic fabric, particularly with regard to large companies, small businesses and start-ups,” reflects Elsa Larue de Tournemine, communications manager at OCEMO. “Mediterranean Economic Week is a chance for companies to initiate meetings, lay the cornerstones of long-lasting relationships, demonstrate the values of their products and services, open themselves up to international markets and discover new business opportunities. The conferences and workshops will provide concrete opportunities for exchange, and act as a chance for firms to explore other success stories. An Enterprise Village and networking spaces will also be provided in order to enhance promotion and encourage B2B encounters.” Throughout Mediterranean Economic Week, a number of speakers and contributors will share their expertise with businesses eager to explore new horizons.
This year, particular focus is being placed on the digital industry and companies with links to African markets. “African markets have enormous and still-untapped potential,” according to Stéphane Soto, Managing Director of Aix-Marseille French Tech. “In our region, the digital sector represents 7,000 companies and over 44,000 jobs. Digital industry spurs entrepreneurial activity, which is another reason to rethink international partnerships. The concept of innovation is the same on both sides of the Mediterranean, no matter which continent you’re on – therefore it’s entirely possible to work together with a win-win perspective.“
Companies interested in being represented at the Enterprise Village are invited to contact OCEMO via email, at coordination@ocemo.org. The full event program is available online at: www.semaine-eco-med.com. Individual company programs may also be requested via email.
